FCC Amateur Radio Exam

All classes of exams are offered in the following order: Technician, General, Amateur Extra. Please make sure you study for the correct element(s) and level(s), as it is not permitted to take them out of sequence. More than one exam per session is allowed, but please ensure you have studied for all elements you wish to take.

One retest may be allowed at the examiner’s discretion.

If you are under 13 years old, you may not register for any exam session until your parent or guardian has filled out our COPPA Parental Consent Form and emailed it to coppa@examtools.com, with a CC to the session manager exams@ki4aqt.net

Testing fee is $10. Fee waivers available for active / veteran military, minors, active students, and GLAARG VEs upgrading to Amateur Extra. Retest fee is $10 regardless of waiver status.

Testing fees can be paid by Cash, Cashapp, or Zelle at the time of testing.

Please ensure you bring with you:

A government photo ID (Driver’s license, military ID or passport)
FRN if you have not preregistered
CSCE’s for any credit not in the FCC ULS
Copies of expired license
